Zinc prices recovered by 0.57% to Rs 97.35 per kg in futures trading today tracking gains in base metals overseas.

Also, pick-up in spot demand influenced the zinc futures prices here.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in May traded higher by 55 paise, or 0.57% to Rs 97.35 per kg, with a business turnover of 1,314 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in June rose by 55 paise, or 0.56% to Rs 98.70 per kg, with a business volume of 135 lots.

Market analysts said a firm trend in the entire base metals at the London Metal Exchange and pick-up in domestic demand at spot markets, mainly led to the recovery in zinc futures prices here.
