Buoyed by the firming trend at the London Metal Exchange (LME) and strong domestic demand, zinc futures prices rose by 0.41 per cent to Rs 111.10 per kg today.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in January traded 45 paise, or 0.41 per cent higher at Rs 111.10 per kg.
It clocked a business turnover of 37 lots.
The metal for February delivery also gained 45 paise, or 0.40 per cent, to Rs 112.35 per kg, with a business volume of two lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in zinc futures to firming trend in the entire base metals at the London Metal Exchange.
At the LME, zinc was trading 0.5 per cent higher at $2,448 per tonne.
