Zinc prices were up 0.33 per cent at Rs 105.40 per kg in futures trade today, tracking a firm trend overseas and good demand in the domestic spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for January delivery rose by 35 paise, or 0.33 per cent, to Rs 105.40 per kg, with an open interest in 145 lots.
In similar fashion, the metal for February contract delivery gained 30 paise, or 0.28 per cent, to Rs 106.35 per kg, with an open interest in two lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in zinc futures to a firm trend overseas, where copper and other base metals strengthened after dollar weakness raised the appeal of metals.
