Zinc futures up 0.46% on higher spot demand

Taking positive cues from the London Metal Exchange (LME) and pick-up in domestic demand, zinc prices rose by 0.46% in the futures market today.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, November zinc edged higher by 45 paise, or 0.46%, to Rs 98.40 per kg, with a business turnover of 568 lots.

The December contract also moved up by 40 paise, or 0.40%, to Rs 99.30 per kg, with a trade volume of 48 lots.

Market analysts said apart form firming trend at the LME, increased demand in the domestic spot markets, also pushed up zinc futures prices.

Meanwhile, zinc gained 0.5% to $1,952 per tonne on the LME.
