Zinc futures prices today edged up by 0.25% to Rs 118.30 per kg amid a firm global trend and better domestic demand as speculators created positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in October traded up by 30 paise, or 0.25%, to Rs 118.30 per kg, with a business turnover of 133 lots.

The metal for delivery in November also rose by a similar margin to trade at Rs 119.70 per kg in a business turnover of 13 lots.

Marketmen said besides improved demand in the domestic spot market, a firming trend in base metals overseas, supported the upside in zinc prices at futures trade.
