Zinc futures prices today edged up by 0.74% to Rs 115.15 per kg today as speculators enlarged positions, amid a firm global trend and better domestic demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in October increased by 85 paise, or 0.74%, to Rs 115.15 per kg, with a business turnover of 258 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in November traded higher by 70 paise, or 0.61%, to Rs 116.40 per kg in a turnover of one lot.

Traders said besides improved spot demand, a firming trend in base metals overseas on hopes of post-holiday demand in China, mainly led to the rise in zinc prices at futures trade here.
