Fiat Chrysler cars on Star Wars theme

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has partnered with Stars Wars movie and is promoting all the brands under its umbrella with the Star Wars theme. The promotion is being done to capitalize around the hype created for the upcoming movie - Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which will be releasing worldwide on December 18.


As part of the promotion, Uber cab users in New York were give an opportunity to take a ride in a Dodge Charger wrapped in vinyl like the First Order Stormtroopers from the new movie. FCA had also displayed a Fiat 500E with a similar treatment at the 2015 L.A. auto show. The ads are created by the Doner Agency in partnership with Disney and Lucasfilm and features Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, and Fiat vehicles. The ads have started showing from December 3.

Fiat Chrysler is currently focusing on its expansion and has planned to invest $5.3 billion in its US plants and proposes moving its US car production to Mexico, thus concentrating on SUV and crossover production in the US. The production of the Chrysler 200 sedan would move from to Toluca, Mexico, while the Ram 1500 pickup truck would move to Sterling Heights Assembly.

With the proposal of a merger of FCA and GM going on the back burner, FCA is going ahead with its expansion and will also be revamping its iconic brands in the coming days.
