Land Rover had introduced the Range Rover Sport SVR under the Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) division. Our sources confirm that Jaguar Land Rover has recently got the SVAutobiography registered too. The SVO will introduce SVAutobiography as a part of its luxury customisation plan. The SVR is the acronym for Special Vehicle Racing, and SVAutobiography speaks for itself.
JLR's SVO will be introducing the SVAutobiography ideally on vehicles as a part of customisation to enhance their luxury. This will be a move from the company to enhance the luxury of its existing products, and take it to the next level. Expect Jaguar Land Rover to showcase the SVAutobiography sometime this year itself, in one of the motor shows, mostly in North America. Mclaren is another British automaker that has recently introduced its Mclaren Special Operations (MSO) division, however its focus is more on performance. Even Mercedes-Benz AMG, BMW M and Audi RS divisions focus more on performance. Jaguar Land Rover will be the only brand to focus on multiple aspects.
SVO will have four sub-divisions: first will focus on racing, second on extreme off-roaders, third for luxury derivatives and the last will be collector's edition. Our sources state that the luxury derivatives is likely to be called as SVAutiobiography.
The Range Rover Sport SVR will make its way into India as well by late 2015 or early 2016. The Range Rover Sport SVR is powered by a 5.0-litre supercharged petrol engine that will produce 542bhp of power. This SUV could compete on a track with a Boxster or Cayman, and at the same time it is a highly capable off-roader too. The Range Rover Sport was anyways the fastest Land Rover ever made and now its pace has been further enhanced. This will compete with the likes of GL63 AMG, which is already available in India.
