After a long wait, Fiat will be launching the Grand Cherokee in India this year. The Grand Cherokee will be launched in the second half of India as we got a confirmation from Fiat Chrysler India that Jeep brand will be officially launched in the second half of 2015.
This will be powered by a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine that will churn out 215bhp of power and 510Nm of peak torque. This will come mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. The Grand Cherokee will compete with the Audi Q5, Mercedes-Benz ML-Class and the BMW X3. However, this will have a lower price tag, and of course Jeeps off-roading DNA will be embellished in it. It will be sold only with a 4x4 variant, and there might not be a 4x2 version for India.
The Italian auto group recently appointed Kevin Flynn as the new President and Managing Director for India Operations.
