Volkswagen India's major exports are to Mexico and the Vento underwent the Latin NCAP test. The sedan that is tested is the latest iteration of the Vento that is sold in India. Both the Ventos used in the crash test were manufactured in Volkswagen's Chakan plant. It has the three chrome slate front grille that makes it look somewhat like the Jetta. The Vento got five-star rating in adult passenger safety and three for child.
