It signifies initiatives planned by the Company in the areas of products and technology, safety, network and retail experience to achieve its goal of 2 million annual sales by 2020.
In recent years, the Company has led the market in introducing new technologies. Auto Gear Shift, launched in India with the Celerio at Auto Expo 2014, offers customers convenience, especially in congested city driving conditions, without compromising fuel efficiency. It has since been offered in popular models like Alto K-10, WagonR and DZire Diesel.
Smart Hybrid Technology by Suzuki (SHVS), launched first in Ciaz, offers superior fuel efficiency at reasonable cost. SHVS technology enabled Ciaz to regain its position as the most fuel efficient diesel car in the country. By participating in the Governments FAME program for electric and hybrid vehicles, SHVS has created value for customers, Government and the environment. Introduction of SHVS in Ertiga improved fuel efficiency by 18%.
The Company has also enhanced passenger safety by offering dual airbags and ABS with EBD as option in several popular models like WagonR, Celerio and Swift. These are standard in S-Cross and Baleno.
These and other initiatives have enabled the Company to grow its share to 47% in the passenger vehicles market, up from 38% five years ago.
Going forward, Maruti Suzuki will continue to transform the Indian Automotive Experience, from products, design and technology to the way it connects with its customers. TRANSFORMOTION is the path to Maruti Suzuki 2.0.
