Mercedes-Benz has decided to start 2015 with a bang! After announcing that they will be bringing 15 new products to India, January gets to set the first launch from the three-pointed star. The much awaited CLA200 and CLA200 CDI were launched today. There will be two variants- CLA- Sport and CLA-Style.

The Petrol CLA200 costs Rs.35 lakhs and the diesel CLA200 CDI costs Rs.35.9 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). Both these are under the title CLA- sport. CLA's Style variant costs Rs.31.5 lakhs and will only offer the diesel car without a few features. The cars come stock with satellite navigation system assisted by Garmin, a high end Harman & Kardon system, reverse parking camera, a new five-inch HD center display with the latest COMAND system. Apart from these interior gadget upgrades the CLA gets a panoramic sunroof that can shut automatically when it senses rain.

The CLA will be offered with four colour options, red, white, grey and silver and two interior trims, black and beige. To differentiate it from the A-class front, Mercedes-Benz has provided the CLA with a black diamond grille which gives it quite the aggressive look. Both petrol and diesel variants ride on 17-inch rims and have a generously large trunk providing 470-litre of storage space.

Apart from the feature packed CLA, Mercedes-Benz has announced that their new generation cars will be part of an exclusive service package that will ensure a cost of ownership starting as low as Rs.1.99/kilometre. Another offering from Mercedes-Benz is the unmatched interest rate of 9.99% for the new generation cars.

The Chakan plant has been expanded to produce 20,000 units per year and the plant should commence production in June 2015. This will make Mercedes-Benz the company that assembles the most luxury cars in India. To read our review of the Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class, click here.
