The flagship car ofMercedes-Benz, the Mercedes-Maybach S600 will be launched on the 25th of this month at the company's Chakan plant, in Pune. This car will mark the twelfth launch by Mercedes-Benz in this year,as part of their '15 in 15' strategy.
The Maybach brand is named after Wilhelm Maybach, the co-designer of the internal combustion engine alongwith Gottleib Daimler. The Mercedes-Maybach S600 was unveiled at the Los Angeles Motor Show as well as Guangzhou Auto Show,last year and is being now launched in India, as Mercedes-Benz considers India as one of their most important markets. The Maybach S600 is based on the new S-classand is 207mm longer than the S-class. It isclaimed to havethe most silentcabin compared to any othersedan in the world. The car has undergoneextensive testing in Mercedes-Benz's new aero-acoustic wind tunnel, where expertshave shaped theperfect design of the door under wind load.
The premium sedan is loaded with luxury features such asadjustable rear seats, Hot-Stone massage built into the seats, fine leather upholstery, a chilled rear center armrest, Burmester 3D audio system and hand-crafted champagne flutes.
The Maybach S600 ispowered by a 6.0 litreV12 bi-turbo engine with an output of 523bhp at 4900-5300rpm and maximum torque of 830Nm at 1900-4000rpm. Mercedes claims the Maybach will hit 0-100 km/h in just 5 seconds, while the top speed iselectronically limited to 250 km/h. Driving this massive engine will be a7G-tronic Plus automatic transmission.
