The next-generation Mercedes-Benz is likely to be launched next year and once again it has been spotted on test with minimal camouflage. The new E-Class will be bigger than the current one and shall be between the C-Class and the S-Class in length. The E-Class will be getting several first-inc class features as well.
The new E-Class will go on sale in Europe in 2016 and is based on the MRA rear-wheel drive architecture. The new E-Class will also have E-Coupe, E-Cabriolet, E63 AMG and also the next CLS will be based on this platform. For Indian, it will be launched around the festive season in 2016.
Mercedes-Benz will launching the AMG version with the 4.0-litre V8 engine and this will be producing about 570bhp of power. This is the same motor that we have seen on the C63 AMG and the AMG GT. There won't a 5.5-litre turbocharged V8 engine that was powering the current version of the E-Class. It will make available in rear wheel drive and even 4MATIC options. The V6 range of engines on the next-gen sedan will be discontinued and will be replaced by straight-six cylinder engines. The E-Class will get 48V electrics. These will help to perform better, efficiently and even reduce the emissions. This will be a good competitor to the new M5 as well.
