Volkswagen India has stopped thedelivery of its Polo, including all variants India.This letter has been sent to all the dealer partners signed by Ashish Gupta, Head of After Sales Operations and Pankaj Sharma, Head of Sales Operations, Volkswagen Passenger Cars.
A letter issued by the company says, "We request, not to physically deliver any Polo vehicle (All variants) with immediate effect till further notice from VW."
The suspension of deliveries isdue to a technical reason, currently under evaluation. A limited number of cars from aspecific production period have been impacted. Volkswagen, however has confirmed that deliveries for the non-impacted Polo range continues as per schedule.It is believed that thesuspended delivery of Polo in India is not connected to to the Volkswagen diesel emissions scandal.
Earlier this week, the company had said that it is still evaluating the impact of the emission scandal on Indian operations, and a recall of vehicles will depend on findings of the ongoing investigations.
ARAI is already making an enquiry for the cars sold in India, citing the international emission scandal.
