At least 10 people have been killed after a suicide car bomb exploded at the entrance of a hotel in the Somali capital of Mogadishu.
The Jazeera hotel is located near the city's airport and has often hosted international diplomats in the past, reported the BBC.
A government security officer said that the hotel security guards were among those killed.
Meanwhile, Islamist militant group Al Shabab has claimed responsibility for the attack, which is believed to have been carried out in response to the offensive launched by an African Union force and the Somali government against the terror outfit.
