11th National Quality Conclave to focus on importance of quality standards

The Quality Council of India (QCI), a Government of India body which propagates the adoption and adherence to quality standards in all important spheres of activities has announced the 11th edition of its flagship event- National Quality Conclave (NQC).

The focus of this event is to bring together leaders from varied industries on a common platform, providing them an opportunity to share and discuss new ideas to promote best quality practices in various sectors.

The conclave adopts a theme based on current economic trends to inspire questions related to quality control standards, and this year the event, which takes place from August 19th to 20th at Le Meridien (New Delhi) is themed at improving quality for 125 crore citizens.

The event will be flagged off by chief guest Minister of Railways, Suresh Prabhu.

"India's recent growth and development has been one of the most significant achievements of our times. Over the past six and half decades, the country has brought about landmark revolution in all spheres and has witnessed a series of new initiatives that have unfolded a host of opportunities," said Chairman QCI, Adil Zainulbhai.

"India now has that rare window of opportunity to improve the quality of life for its 125 Crore citizens and lay the foundations for a truly prosperous future. QCI being the national organization for quality infrastructure, accreditation and certification is organizing the two day event with an intent to deliberate on key issues that impact the nation and to facilitate continuous improvement in the quality of lives of the citizens," added Adil Zainulbhai.

The landmark NQC 2016 event will be attended by more than 1000 delegates from various sectors. It will have 12 concurrent sessions, two plenaries besides the inaugural and valedictory sessions and award distribution.

The deliberations are aimed at industry leaders, managers from public and private sectors, government, scientific and professional institutes, NGOs, academicians, students and all other stakeholders who have interest in improving the quality of products, services and ultimately the life of the citizens of our nation.

The conclave will witness sessions by some of the most prominent industry leaders from across industries. They would be discussing on a wide range of topics like Propagating Quality to the Grass Root Level in India, The Challenges of Implementation- New Standards and New Quality Initiatives, ZED, Industry 4.0, Skilling for Employability, Swachh Bharat, Enough Clean Water, Food Safety, Empowering through Education, Quality of Care for Universal Health Coverage, Addressing Private Sustainability Standards enabling International Trade, Regulatory Reforms in Drug and Medical Devices, Strengthening Patients' Safety: Focus on Injections Safety among many others.

"Over the last few years, QCI has taken several initiatives to promote quality in industry, healthcare, environment, education including skill up gradation and public services. The conclave is an endeavor to enhance understanding on the best quality practices and the innovative ways to deal with quality issues in other parts of the world, thus providing directions for shaping a better future of our citizens," added Zainulbhai.

NQC 2016 will also host the QCI-DL Shah Quality Awards. The Awards would recognize and felicitate successful projects of an organization that have resulted in continuous improvement of products and/or services, better and effective operations as well as increased customers/stakeholders satisfaction.
