Saudi Arabian police have arrested 12 women and fined six others for deliberately defying the kingdom's rules in a campaign against the long-standing ban on women driving.
According to Metro.co.uk, six women were stopped in Riyadh for driving their cars and each was fined around 50 pounds.
More than 60 women had taken to the road on Saturday as part of protest against the ban, the report added.
Saudi Arabia has strict rules against women driving private cars, being the only country in the world to have such a ruling on driving.
