12th World Congress of Cosmetic Dermatology to be held in Bengaluru

Bengaluru is set to play host to national and international cosmetic dermatologists at the 12th Edition of World Congress of Cosmetic Dermatology (WCOCD) from May 4th to 6th 2017 at Dr. Babu Rajendra Prasad International Convention Centre, GKVK.

WCOCD is planned as a premier all-encompassing event in cosmetology, laser surgery, aesthetics and dermatology and promises to be the largest event held in the field of cosmetic dermatology in India so far.

With the rise in the demand for the total transformation of the body and face, the Indian wellness industry and skin care treatment is set to witness exponential growth in the number of consultants in cosmetic dermatology.

WCOCD will focus on educating health professionals on the latest updates and modalities of treatment with respect to aesthetic dermatology.

Speaking on the public announcement of the event, Dr. Venkataram Mysore, Congress President, said, "We are very pleased to bring this World Congress to Bengaluru. It is yet another step towards establishing the city as a key destination in medical tourism. It is the first world congress on the subject to be held in the city and it will bring in the latest in technology to India."

Dr. B. This is crucial for our growth. WCOCD 2017 will also give an opportunity to explore our country, and know about all that is unique about India."

True to the theme of the conference, Cosmetic Dermatology - Global Perspectives the congress has more than 40 International faculties, over 200 National faculties and around 150 interesting topics for discussion. Impeccably designed parallel events well planned workshops, comprehensive instructional video courses and master classes have been designed in the field of lasers, aesthetics, dermatosurgery and practice management.

Sister society sessions too have seen an expression of interest from different countries, making the event truly global. With the plethora of awards to be won through award paper session, quiz competition, innovations, investigations and essay competition, the stage is set for all the young achievers to showcase their talent.

The organising committee would also like to take this opportunities to create awareness regarding various socially-relevant issues such as misuse of steroid-based creams, vitiligo, misguiding advertisements that lure people into bad treatments etc.

The committee has initiated a number of activities to create awareness about these issues.

A cycle rally will be held on 2nd and 3rd May 2017, with over 50 doctors cycling from Mysore to Bengaluru.

The Congress will also host a photography exhibition and contest, poetry reading sessions and more during the event days.
