One Direction star Louis Tomlinson has completed League One side Doncaster Rovers FC takeover to become the new celebrity owner of the club.

Tomlinson is now the co-owner of Doncaster Rovers along with former chairman John Ryan after they finally completed the deal.

According to The Mirror, Doncaster-born Tomlinson, who is a life-long fan of the team and made his football debut when he played for the reserves side in February, had been close to a takeover before but negotiations were delayed.

The negotiations have been resolved and Ryan's spokesman said that the takeover is done and complete.

Ryan, who is a multi-millionaire, already has a quarter share in the club and had sold it to a group called Keepmoat previously, but he now plans to become co-chairman with Tomlinson.

Ryan said that even though Tomlinson, who would be the first pop star to own a football club since Elton John bought Watford in 1976, would not be at the club itself much due to his hectic schedule, the singer is as keen as mustard about the future and wants to be kept in touch with everything going on.

Ryan also said that Tomlinson co-owning the club would sprinkle some stardust on Doncaster Rovers, adding that it would hopefully made the Doncaster public proud of their club.
