A new study has claimed that nearly one in five residents of New York engage in "binge drinking."
The study revealed that the limit has gone up from 2011, when it was at 18 percent, the New York Post reported.
According to the 2012 Community Health survey, nearly six in 10 New Yorkers consumed at least one drink over the prior 30 days.
33 percent of adults in Chelsea/Greenwich Village and Union Square/lower Manhattan engage in binge drinking.
And about 30 percent residents on the Upper East Side/Gramercy and East Harlem (29 percent and 27 percent, respectively) got blitzed.
