Three Al Jazeera journalists have been taken into custody for the alleged illegal flying of a drone in Paris after being spotted by the police in the Bois de Boulogne area, a report said.

A judicial source said that while one of them was piloting the drone, the second one was filming and the third was watching. A spokesman for prosecutors said that there was "no relationship for the moment" between the arrests and mysterious drone flights spotted over Paris recently, reported the BBC.

The arrests came as drones were spotted over city landmarks for a second night running on Tuesday.

Al Jazeera, a Qatar-based satellite TV channel, said that its journalists were "filming a report on the city's recent mystery drones."

The names and identities of the journalists have not been released.

Flying drones over Paris without a licence is banned by law. The offence carries a maximum of one year in prison and a 75,000 pound fine.
