An earthquake of 5.8 magnitude on the Richter Scale jolted across north India on Sunday night.
The Indian Meteorological Department has traced the epicentre of the earthquake at Rudraprayag in Uttarakhand.
According to the IMD, the tremors took place at 10.33 pm with a depth of 33 kilometre.
According to reports, the tremors were felt for almost 30 seconds in Uttarakhand, Dehradun and Delhi NCR.
Residents were seen running out of buildings onto the street for safety.
