The Maharashtra police on Friday caught five Naxals in the Gadchiroli district, less than two weeks after elections took place in the state.
"After the elections, we conducted an anti-Naxal campaign in the area, where we managed to nab five Naxals. One of the people is a prize catch - he is the commander of the Naxal's platoon 15, and there is a reward of Rs 12 lakhs on his head. With him, a company commander was also nabbed, who carries a reward on Rs eight lakhs," superintendent of police Sandeep Patil told ANI.
"The total reward on all five Naxals combined was around Rs 26 lakhs," Patil added.
