A London-based restaurant Gigi's has invented a cocktail worth 9000 pounds, which tops the list of the world's most expensive tipples.
The cocktail, also called Gigi's, which was created in honor of Grace Jones at the opening of the restaurant on September 25, is made from a vintage Champagne, an ultra-rare Armagnac that pre-dates the Boer War and a gold leaf garnish, the Daily Star reported.
The Gigi's, which beat the 8,167 pounds worth 'Winston' made in Melbourne, Australia, into the second place, has the appearance of a traditional Champagne Cocktail which usually includes bubbly laced with cognac and bitters.
Restaurant manager Cesare Papagna said that they did not set out to create a cocktail for the fabulously rich, but rather to give the '007' star something memorable to thank her for coming.
Papagna added that the "liquid gold" luxury will not be added to the restaurant's drinks menu, but will be offered to other "discerning" guests as the Gigi's isn't the kind of cocktail that one displays on a blackboard.
He continued that if people have to ask the price of the cocktail, which includes the market value of each full bottle of alcohol that will produce approximately 12 flute servings worth 708 pounds per glass, they won't be able to afford it.
