Airports Authority of India (AAI) organised the second edition of Dance and Music in the Park on March 23 and 24 in collaboration with Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth (SPIC MACAY).
The event was organised at Nehru Park here to celebrate composite heritage, and to bring awareness about a peaceful and clean environment.
AAI Chairman Dr Guruprasad Mohapatra inaugurated the two-day event by lighting the lamp in the presence of AAI HR Anuj Aggarwal.
The first day saw a vocal music recital by Pandit Jasraj, the doyen of Hindustani Classical Music and a captivating performance by noted Kutiyattam dancer, Kapila Venu. On the second day, the programme began with a flute recital by Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia followed by a performance by Malvika Sarukkai, an accomplished Bharatanatyam dancer.
With an objective of promoting Indian culture and generating awareness of the cultural traditions and heritage of India, AAI signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SPIC MACAY for organising this two-day event for three years.
The first Dance and Music in the Park series was organised on December 2 and 3, 2017 at Nehru Park. The two-day event was indeed a memorable evening for dance and music lovers of Delhi.
