The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which is grabbing headlines for all the wrong reasons, does not exist outside Delhi and has lost its support base even in the national capital.
BJP spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao alleged that the media would very soon stop reporting about the AAP.
"The Aam Aadmi Party really does not exist anywhere in the country outside Delhi. It's a very small regional outfit which has lost its support base even in Delhi as we can see how in the last few days the 'mohalla Sabhas' being organised by the government in Delhi are being deserted by the people," he told ANI here.
Rao further said the people have lost their faith and hope in the Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi Government.
"So, the AAP outside does not exist at all. So, the people who are quitting the party I think would only be giving some sensible thing because this party does not exist outside Delhi," he added.
The BJP's comment came a day after nearly 350 AAP volunteers and leaders from Maharashtra quit in protest against the 'murder of democracy' in the party, showing their support to expelled leaders Prashant Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav.
The volunteers, who quit the party, are expected to join the Swaraj Abhiyan led by Bhushan and Yadav.
