A day after Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA accused the party's representatives in Punjab of 'exploiting women in return for election tickets', the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has said the party is no different from other political parties as they are falling much short of standards.

Speaking to ANI, RJD leader Manoj Jha said the AAP should have initiated internal investigation on AAP MLA Devinder Sehrawat's claim, instead of filing a defamation suit against him.

"AAP as an outfit, which came with the promise of being fundamentally different, believe that rot, setting in other political parties after so many years, has set in AAP at very fast pace. Now Devinder Sehrawat has raised certain issues and the party must find out the truth," he said.

"Earlier they used to talk about internal Lok Pal, so on and so forth, what has happened to them. Fundamentally the party is no different rather they are falling much short of the standards than other political parties. Filing a defamation suit will only vitiate the atmosphere. It doesn't give you any kind of positive credential and there is certainly a credibility issue," he added.

Devinder Sehrawat, AAP MLA from Bijwasan, wrote a letter to the party's national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal claiming that he received some disturbing reports of women being exploited for election tickets.

The Bijwasan MLA also wrote to Anna Hazare, stating that the party is facing instances of misconduct and corruption.

Earlier, AAP MLA Sucha Singh Chhotepur was also sacked post his allegations against the party of seeking a bribe for election tickets.
