Hitting out at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) lawmakers who allegedly assaulted ousted leader Kapil Mishra in the Delhi Legislative Assembly, former party member Mayank Gandhi on Wednesday dubbed the incident 'sad' while saying that the party leader are turning goons.
"It was sad to see the violence of the party member. Kejriwal didn't answer a single question. Are they turning into goons now? The AAP ministers stooped too low that they started beating people now," Gandhi told ANI.
However, suspended AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan said the party members didn't attack Mishra but was making him understand as he was misbehaving and disrespecting the assembly.
"Kapil Mishra was misbehaving and disrespecting the assembly so he was marshalled out. Some of the MLAs tried to pacify the situation but he did not understand. He is levelling false allegation and doing everything at the behest of the BJP. It is false allegation that he was attacked. We were just making him understand that what he was doing is wrong," Khan told ANI.
Earlier, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress denounced the attack on Mishra demanding resignation and punishment for the attackers.
Speaking to ANI, BJP leader Maheish Girri said, "This incident is very disheartening. The people of Delhi are watching and will soon walk up to Manish Sisodia and Arvind Kejriwal to beat them up for all the wrong doings that they are into. These leaders should resign as soon as possible and should be punished for this act too. If this incident can happen once, it can happen twice also but Delhi should get a new government for the betterment soon".
Resonating similar views, Congress leader P. L. Punia stated that action should be taken in this matter.

"The incident that happened in the Assembly is such an unfortunate one; it is totally disrespecting the law and order. An action should be taken in this matter or else many more such cases will happen in future," Punia told ANI.
The Delhi Assembly earlier in the day witnessed high voltage drama when Mishra was marshalled out following a scuffle with the party MLAs.
Mishra, once a close confidante of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had levelled corruption charges against him and other AAP leaders, which created ripples in the city politics and dented the image of the party.
Mishra had alleged that Health Minister Satyendra Jain gave Rs. two crore "illegal cash" to Kejriwal at the latter's official residence and helped "fix" land deals worth Rs 50 crore for Kejriwal's relatives.
In his latest allegation, Mishra had said the city's health department was witnessing a scam in purchase of medicines by the AAP government. Mishra alleged irregularities in purchase of medicines and in payment to suppliers.
The AAP, however, denied the charges levelled by Mishra and put him under suspension.
