The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday accused the Aam Aadmi Party of 'emotional atyachaar' on farmer Gajendra Singh, leading him to commit suicide during a rally at the Jantar Mantar in the national capital.
"Gajendra met with senior Aam Aadmi Party leaders and it seems like there is some brain wash, there is some 'emotional atyachaar' behind his climbing a tree and taking this extreme step," BJP leader Ashwini Upadhyay told ANI.
"It needs to be investigated thoroughly because it is not a simple suicide. It seems like it is a motivated murder," he added.
Meanwhile, Dausa district Tehsildar Satish Kumar Jain stated that the Gajendra was 'financially sound'.
"Don't think financial crisis was the reason. We did not receive any application on his behalf for compensation," Jain had said.
As per reports, a suicide note was found that revealed the farmer, who had three children, was banished from his house after his crop was damaged. He took the extreme step because he had no means of support his family.
