With whistleblower IAS officer Ashok Khemka being transferred yet again in his 23-year-old career, the Aam Aadmi (common man) Party (AAP) on Thursday alleged that the Congress and BJP were two sides of same coin and do not intend to fight corruption.
"This proves the point that the BJP and the Congress are two sides of the same coin. They don't want to fight corruption; rather they can't tolerate a single honest person," said AAP spokesperson Ashutosh.
Meanwhile, Congress leader Shakeel Ahmed refused to comment on the issue.
"Khemka says that the BJP Government of Haryana has treated him unfairly. Now, this matter is between Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Haryana Government and Khemka. The Congress party does not want to make any further comment on this issue," said Ahmed.
Khemka's name figured in the list of nine IAS officers, who were transferred earlier on Wednesday evening. This is Khemka's 46th transfer in his 22 years of service as an IAS officer. The latest transfer comes just four months after Khemka was appointed Haryana's Transport Commissioner.
Upset over being transferred yet again, Khemka had yesterday expressed how painful the moment was for him.
"Tried hard to address corruption and bring reforms in Transport despite severe limitations and entrenched interests. Moment is truly painful," he tweeted.
