National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) chairman P.L. Punia on Thursday dubbed Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal's remarks on the Abohar killing as very 'irresponsible' amid a furor in Parliament over the Dalit brutality issue in Punjab.

"In the Abohar incident, two men's hands and legs was chopped off, the incident is so serious and still the government did not conduct any investigation on this. The Punjab Government has failed to take any action. The chief minister himself gives an irresponsible statement that it is an issue of 'gang war'. The Congress Party has taken this incident very seriously and the Commission is taking measures on this. We will make sure that the victim's family gets justice," Punia told ANI here.

"National Commission for Scheduled Castes have send a notice to DGP Punjab and asked the DGP to appear before the commission today," he added.

Badal, who is the Union Minister for Food Processing Industries, had on Tuesday said that the incident in Abohar was an inter-gang war.
