Activists of the Jammu West Assembly Movement on Saturday staged a protest over infiltration bids and ceasefire violations from across the border in Jammu and Kashmir, and shouted slogans against Pakistan's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Protestors took to streets and burnt flags and effigies of Sharif.

The protest comes after a mysterious video emerged on Wednesday, the first anniversary of beheading of two Indian Army officers along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district, which allegedly showed a person carrying the severed head of Indian soldier Hemraj.

They raised slogans against Pakistan and stressed that India should not carry any dialogue with the neighbouring country.

"The people of Jammu and Kashmir have not only burnt Pakistan's flag but also the effigies of Pakistan Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif. This is a warning to the country that if they continue their infiltration in Jammu and Kashmir and their militant activities, we are ready to stage a war against the neighboring country," said Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) President Sunil Dimple.

Dimple further added that Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde needs to resign for terming the video as the old martyr story.

Furthermore, the protestors also alleged that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Defence Minister A.K. Antony, Shinde and the Congress Party are hiding facts about the state from the people of the country.
