Tottenham Hotspur forward Emmanuel Adebayor has denied accusations that he kicked his mother out of his house because he thought that she was a witch.
It had been claimed that the former Arsenal striker had not seen his mother in over a year and was refusing to support her financially. Haija Adebayor was reportedly having to sell polythene bags and padlocks to earn a living.
The Togo international said that he never sacked his mother from the house, adding that she decided to leave the house. He said that how is he going to be in touch with his mum if his mum is the one telling everyone that his work would not go forward, so he would just be on his side and do his thing, The Mirror reported.
Adebayor, who joined Tottenham from Manchester City, also pleaded with people to stop performing witchcraft on him. He said that they should stop talking, they should stop doing Juju on him and should leave him alone.
Juju is a term used in parts of Africa to describe certain spells used in witchcraft, the report added.
