Former Chelsea striker Adrian Mutu has reportedly denied bizarre reports that he had been denied a visa after arriving to apply for it 'visibly drunk'.
Mutu, who joined Chelsea in 2003 for 15 million pounds, is set to star in the recently launched Indian Super League but his arrival in the country has been delayed due to immigration problems.
Reports in Italy have claimed that Mutu had turned up at the Indian embassy in the Romanian capital Bucharest intoxicated. But the forward, who was sacked by Chelsea after testing positive for cocaine in 2004, took to Twitter to rubbish the reports.
Mutu captioned a picture of his visa posting that he does not understand an Italian newspaper writing a lie like that without verifying the information, The Daily Star reported.
Mutu is no stranger to controversy and was banned in 2013 from the Romanian national team after posting pictures of manager Victor Piturca as Mr Bean, the report added.
