Congress MP Rajeev Shukla on Monday alleged that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) veteran Lal Krishna Advani is not the priority of saffron outfit at the moment.
Shukla, who was reacting to the BJP not extending an invitation to key founding member Advani for the 35th foundation day at its party headquarters in Delhi, said this is not a new thing as the BJP has been sidelining the veteran since the past one year. This is their party's matter. They will decide who they want to give importance to. And according to me, Advani ji is not their priority right now," he added.
According to sources, no message was sent to the 87-year-old veteran for the BJP's foundation day celebration.
Advani had earlier last week refused BJP president Amit Shah's request to address an important annual conclave held in Bengaluru.
It may be recalled here that Advani was earlier last year opposed to the BJP's move to project Narendra Modi as the party's prime ministerial candidate.
