At least 11 militants belonging to the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group were killed in an operation carried out by the Afghan security forces in eastern Nangarhar province, on Sunday.
The Tolo News quoted the Public Order Police, as saying in a statement, that the operation was launched in Khogyani district to clear the area.
Four other insurgents got injured, the statement further said.
A "heroin factory was also destroyed," it added.
IS has not commented on the incident so far.
