At least five Taliban militants were killed in clashes with Afghan security forces in northern Jawzjan province on Wednesday night.
The local sources confirmed the attack and said four other insurgents were also wounded, the Tolo News reported.
The clash took place after Taliban attacked police check posts in Faizabad district.
"The clash continued for nearly four hours," provincial police chief, General Faqir Mohammad Jawzjani said.
"Three security forces were also wounded in the clash," he added.
Taliban has not commented on the incident so far.

Earlier this week, at least 23 Taliban militants were killed and 28 other injured during the operations in southern Zabul province.
Local Taliban leaders, the deputy shadow district chief of the group for Mizan Hayatullah Mujahid, Taliban's shadow military chief for Mizan Sediq Agha, and three of their commanders were among those killed.
