Afghanistan said on Wednesday that over 500 missiles landed in its Kunar province in the past four days after being fired from across the Durand Line with Pakistan.

"Rockets (fired off by Pakistani forces) have landed in residential areas which have claimed one life," Afghanistan's news channel, Tolo news, quoted Kunar governor Waheedullah Kalimzai as saying.

"People have suffered financial losses. At least 40 families have been displaced in Shultan (district)," said Kalimzai.

"This is an issue between two countries. We have shared it with government leadership in Kabul. We are waiting for their order to act in this respect," Kalimzai said.

The residents of the province and the civil society activists have called on government to talk with Islamabad to stop the cross-Durand Line shelling.

Civil society activist Matiullah Shahab said, "We call on the central government and the international community to find a solution for this issue, which has been affecting our region for past many years."

Meanwhile, Pakistani officials have said the missiles had targeted the terrorist groups in the region.
