The Uttar Pradesh government has directed concerned officials to undertake a survey to assess the damage to crops after untimely rains swept the state.
According to reports, UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has asked for information with regards to the damage from the affected districts, following which, the state government shall announce its decision on the scale of compensation to be given.
The untimely rain and hailstorms that have lashed the region has reportedly caused heavy damaged to Rabi crops, including wheat and mustard. Potatoes have also been affected by the weather conditions.
