Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that men and women cannot be treated equally as it is against "nature".
According to the BBC, Erdogan accused feminists of rejecting motherhood saying that they do not understand the significance of motherhood in Islam.
People with secular views in the country argue that the government's social policies are posing danger for the country as it leading the nation into a wrong direction.
Erdogan has earlier urged women to have three children and has lashed out against child birth by Caesarean section and abortion.
He also said that women need equal respect rather than equality.
