The Prime Minister's Office on Thursday sought a report from the Civil Aviation Ministry on the recent reports of Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis delaying Air India flights on account of their VIP status.
"@PMOIndia asks Ministry of Civil Aviation for a report on delay in #AirIndia flights on account of VIP travels in the recent past," Press Information Bureau chief Frank Noronha said on twitter.
Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju has come under fire after he allegedly caused three people to be de-boarded from an Air India flight plying from Leh to Delhi.
However, the Minister has denied all the allegations and said he was not aware of the same.
Meanwhile, inconvenience was caused to passengers when an Air India flight to US was delayed by nearly an hour on June 29 after it was reported that Principal Secretary Pravin Pardeshi to Fadnavis travelling with him had not carried his passport with valid US visa.
