Aviation expert Harshvardhan on Saturday said that national carrier Air India must take serious note of the recent report of hygiene and catering failure onboard one of its international flights, and take prompt action against those responsible for it.
Speaking to ANI about the discovery of a moving lizard in food being served to passenger on a Delhi-London Air India flight, Harshvardhan said, "This is a very serious issue related to the food safety of passengers and one cannot take it lightly."
"This leaves a question mark on the hygiene of the catering and the airline·And, the government and Air India should take a serious action against it. And, action should be taken against the people involved in it, so that confidence can be built up among the passengers," he added.
Earlier Union Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju had also commented sternly about ther revolting report of a passenger on an international flight of Air India being served a lizard in his meal.
Gajapathi Raju said Air India was not expected to serve lizards, nor were its cooks expected to cook lizards.
"This is a serious issue. Air India is not expected to serve lizards, nor are the cooks expected to cook lizards," Gajapathi Raju said.

According to reports, a lizard was found in the lunch tray of a passenger onboard the Delhi-London Air India flight on Thursday.
The concerned passenger has filed a complaint with the airline, although the latter has not yet responded to the incident in an official manner.
