A Spanish designer has designed an aircraft that is shaped like a whale.

Oscar Vinals designed AWWA Sky Whale would be bigger than the Airbus A380 jumbo jet, and is going to be technologically more advanced, News.com.au reported.

According to Vinals, his plane's belly is going to be so round that it would be able to fit three levels and 755 passengers.

He said that the decks are also going to be divided according to class - first class at the top, business in the middle and economy at the bottom.

Vanals also claims that his plane would feature engines that would be able to tilt up to 45 degrees, and make it possible for the plane to take off on the spot.

And if the aircraft crashes the passenger section of the aircraft is going to separate from the wings, to limit the number of casualties.

The aircraft is also going to have a 'self-healing' skin, but it has not been explained yet as to how this will happen.

The aircraft is going to be 77m long and it's wingspan would be 88m long.
