Saeed Ajmal has questioned the England Cricket Board for an explanation over Stuart Broad's comments over the 'legality' of the bowler's action.
The 36-year old cricketer, who is currently playing for Worcestershire in England, took 13 wickets in their recent win against Essex which led Michael Vaughan to post a picture of the player in action during the game on Twitter. This further led Stuart Broad to comment in a tweet appearing to question his legitimacy.
According to The Nation, Ajmal concluded that this implied the action he used in a match situation is not the same as that used in testing. He further attributed that the comments insinuate that his action may not be legitimate.
The Pakistani cricketer has apparently advised his agent to talk to the PCB and ECB about the comments and sought an explanation.
Reports revealed that as a centrally contracted player, Broad is restricted in his comments fellow players and can be penalised if they are found to be derogatory.
The International Cricket Council has concluded with several investigations that Ajmal did not straighten his arm by 15 degrees and hence, deemed his action as justifiable and legal.
