Pakistani spin star Saeed Ajmal has said that Pakistan is determined to put the corruption scandal of 2010 behind them and focus on the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy and the rest of the 2013 season.

The Champions Trophy marks Pakistan's first return to England since three of the tourists' squad, former captain Salman Butt and bowlers Mohammad Asif and Mohammed Amir were first identified as being involved in a betting scam, the Daily Star reports.

Stating that the period was a dark episode in Pakistan cricket, Ajmal however, said that his team has moved on from that chapter, adding that as individuals and as a group, their attention is to focus on 2013 and the Champions Trophy and not look back at the events of 2010.

According to Ajmal, cricket in the country has re-built its reputation after the scandal through the efforts of the Pakistan Cricket Board, the players, the staff and the team management, adding that many lessons were learnt from that ill-fated tour.

Ajmal further said that as a group, they have a responsibility to ensure that they are good ambassadors for Pakistan wherever they play, not just in England.

The Champions Trophy starts on Thursday when India take on South Africa at Cardiff, while Pakistan are in action on Friday against West Indies at the Oval, the report added.
