Legendary fast bowler Wasim Akram believes the presence of former Pakistani off-spinner Saqlain Mushtaq will make a major difference in England's performance in the second Test of the four-match series between the two sides.
Following a 75-run defeat against Pakistan in the opening match at Lord's, England had sought the help of Saqlain to counter leg-spinner Yasir Shah's bowling attack in the upcoming match.
Reflecting on his inclusion, Akram said that Saqlain would surely turn out to be beneficial for England, as he exactly knows where and how to hit Pakistan, the Express Tribune reports.
Saqlain's short stint with the hosts is also expected to include guiding off-spinner Moeen Ali and leg-break spinner Adil Rashid tactically.
While heaping praise on Yasir, Akram said the talismanic leggie is a great addition to Pakistan's bowling attack and that the hosts would surely be wary of him.
Yasir bagged the Man of the Match award as he returned to the figures of six for 72 and four for 69 across two innings to help Pakistan take a one-nil lead in the series.
The Misbah-ul-Haq-led side will play their second match against England at Old Trafford from Friday.
