Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad on Saturday said the motive behind launching the 'Akrosh Diwas' is not to hurt anyone but to express anger against the government's demonetisation of high-value currency notes.
"We will keep pressuring the Centre till the time they don't accept our demand. We will not destruct property, but will protest peacefully. We will take out a procession. The motive of the protest is not to hurt anyone. It is just to demonstrate our rage against the Centre's demonetisation drive," Azad told ANI.
Azad said the anarchy that is being witnessed has never been seen anywhere.
"They implemented such a scheme which destroyed the entire economy," he said.
The opposition parties will launch a country wide protest 'Aakrosh Diwas' on November 28 over the BJP-led NDA regime's demonetisation move.
This come as the deadlock continues in Parliament with the government refusing to agree to a discussion in the Lok Sabha that ends in a vote.
The ruling dispensation has also rejected the opposition's demand that Prime Minister Narendra Modi speak in the Rajya Sabha, where the government is in a minority.
