Twenty20 record-breaking champion Alex Hales is desperate to show England selectors that he is more than just a T20 player.
The county cricket club Nottinghamshire's opening batsman feels that he carries the right temperament and flourish to be part of England's World Cup team and wants to show the selectors that he is more than just a 'big hitter'.
According to Mirror, Hales collected the first T20 international ton for the three lions in Bangladesh against Sri Lanka, but his heart is set on finding success in the 50-over game as well.
The Master Blaster said that with the World Cup being in Australia, the team needs some form of solid technique to open their game on flat pitches and that his selection in the team would be pivotal due to his powerful striker abilities.
However, with his inconsistent performance at the Championship during the start of the season, Hales is determined to learn from his failures and thrive on the pressure and expectations that is bestowed upon him by the sport.
