David Beckham's former LA Galaxy boss Alexi Lalas has blasted claims in Sir Alex Ferguson's new autobiography that the footballer threw away his career by quitting European football.
According to the Daily Star, Lalas pointed out that he believed Beckham not only became a better player and person, but he was as committed and passionate as any other player who took a more traditional route.
He added that the English footballer had embraced his moves, career and wherever he has gone, he has been successful, adding that Beckham was a trailblazer.
Lalas also hit out at Sir Alex's view that Victoria Beckham's Spice Girl stardom dashed David's prospects on the field, the report said.
